W-2’s from all jobs held during the tax year

1099-NEC – non-employee compensation

1099-MISC income—jury duty, gambling winnings, Medical Savings Account (MSA), scholarships, etc.

1099-G state and local income tax refunds , unemployment/family leave income

1099-SSA -Social Security benefits

1099-R/8606 - IRA/pension distributions Investment income

1099 –INT/DIV, Broker Statements, K-1s, stock option/RSU information

K-1’s-from partnerships/S Corps/Trusts/Estates

1098-E for Student loan interest paid

1098-T and education expenses for Education Credit

1099-SA/5498-SA for HSA/MSA Medical Savings Account (MSA) contributions/distributions

Child care expenses—statement from provider or provider’s name, address, tax id, and amount paid

Cryptocurrency documentation-statement from financial institution or your records

 taxable alimony received (per settlement agreement or settlement agreements prior to 2019)

 self-employed business or contractor income—profit/loss statement, 1099-NEC/1099-MISC, capital equipment information, mileage/actual vehicle expenses, self-employed insurance payments, Keogh, SEP, SIMPLE and other self-employed pension plans, Estimated Tax payments made

auto expenses and annual mileage for vehicles used in self-employed business

home office for business—home size, office size, rent/mortgage, utility, insurance expenses

rental property income&expense—profit/loss statement, rental mortgage 1098, insurance, property tax

income from sales of property (Personal Residence/Other Homes/Rental Property)—  original cost or closing statement,  cost of all improvements, refi escrow statements, final closing statement/1099-S

 1099-C cancelled debt-consumer or mortgage debt(short sale/foreclosure)

prior year installment sale information—forms 6252, principal and Interest collected during the year, SSN and address of payer

estimated tax payments made during the year, prior year refund applied to current year, and any amount paid with an extension to file

Itemized deduction documents:

 Form 1098s - Home mortgage interest and points paid for all properties owned

property taxes paid on all properties owned (regular and supplemental)

State and local income taxes paid

Vehicle License Fee on registration

 investment interest expense

charitable donations—cash/check/cc amounts (must have receipt or statement),  value of donated items, miles driven, and out-of-pocket expenses

Medical and dental expenses (must exceed 7.5% of your AGI)

Other tax documents:

Adoption costs—SSN of child, legal, medical, and transportation costs

IRA contributions

Educator expenses (teachers only)

Energy credits-solar, electric vehicle, etc.

Alimony paid that is tax deductible (per settlement agreement or settlement agreements prior to 2019)

Foreign bank account information—location, name of bank, account number, peak value of account during the year

Casualty and theft losses—amount of damage, insurance reimbursements

Moving expenses  for a job located 50+ miles prior residence (California only unless in military)

Other miscellaneous tax deductions—union dues, unreimbursed employee expenses (uniforms, supplies, seminars, continuing education, publications, travel, etc.)  (California only)

 Advance Child Tax Credit payment Letter 6419 for each parent (2021 only)
